Ingredients
Plantain/ Vazhakkai

- 1 (peeled, cleaned and sliced)
|
Onion
|
- 1 (small finely chopped)
|
Mustard seeds
|
- 1/4 tsp
|
Cumin Seeds
|
- 1/4 tsp
|
Urad dhal
|
- 1/2 tsp
|
Chilli powder
|
- 1 tsp
|
Coriander powder
|
- 2 tsp
|
Turmeric powder
|
- 1/4 tsp
|
Salt
|
- as needed
|
Oil
|
- 1 Tbsp
|
Method
In a kadai, add oil heat it. Add mustards,let it splutter, then add cumin seeds, urad dhal, curry leaves and saute. Then add the onions and saute until golden brown.
Now add the vazhakkai and saute for 2 min, later add the chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix it really good.
Now add just 1/4 cup water close it and keep for vazhakkai to cook for 10min. Fry the vazhakkai until done as shown in photo.
