Method
Wash
and cut the tomatoes to cubes. Grind the tomatoes, cumin seeds and turmeric
powder together in a mixer to a fine paste.
In a
wide bowl add the wheat flour, red chilli powder, omam, salt, oil and mix
together really well.
Now add
the ground tomato paste to the flour and start making dough. Do not add water,
sprinkle water only if needed to make soft dough.
Cover
and rest the dough for 10 minutes.
Divide
the dough into equal parts and roll them with rolling pin. Dust some extra
wheat flour while rolling.
Heat
the tawa and cook this rolled chapathi first one side and after a few seconds
flip them to cook the other side as well.
Spread
some oil along the sides of the roti and cook them evenly.
Delicious,
healthy and flavourful chapathi is ready to be enjoyed.
This
chapathi is good all by itself without any side dish, but can be served hot
with yogurt or any sabji of your choice.
