Today’s recipe is a very healthy, tangy, spicy and flavourful chapathi – Tomato Chapathi. I am always satisfied and happy when I always hide some vegetables in my chapathis and make them healthy especially when it for my kids. So friends let’s move on to the recipe. Meanwhile check out other interesting and healthy Breakfast Recipes here.

Here’s how to make Tomato Chapathi with step by step photos…
Ingredients
Wheat flour
2 cups
Red chilli powder
1 ½ tsp
Ajwain/Omam
¼ tsp
Salt
As needed
Oil
2 tsp for the dough

To Grind
Tomatoes
3 [cut to cubes]
Cumin seeds/Jeeragam
½ tsp
Turmeric powder
One pinch
Method

Wash and cut the tomatoes to cubes. Grind the tomatoes, cumin seeds and turmeric powder together in a mixer to a fine paste.

In a wide bowl add the wheat flour, red chilli powder, omam, salt, oil and mix together really well.

Now add the ground tomato paste to the flour and start making dough. Do not add water, sprinkle water only if needed to make soft dough.

Cover and rest the dough for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into equal parts and roll them with rolling pin. Dust some extra wheat flour while rolling.

Heat the tawa and cook this rolled chapathi first one side and after a few seconds flip them to cook the other side as well.

Spread some oil along the sides of the roti and cook them evenly.

Delicious, healthy and flavourful chapathi is ready to be enjoyed.
