Onion Pakoda

Onion Pakoda

Ingredients

Bengal gram flour                              -  3 cup
Rice flour                                            - 1 1/2 cup
Ghee                                                   - 2 tbsp
Onion                                                  - 2 finely chopped
Ginger                                                 - 1 piece finely chopped
Green chillies                                      - 3 or 4
Cilantro                                               - one small bunch
Curry leaves                                       - 3 or 4
Chilli powder                                      -1/4tsp 
Salt                                                     - as required
Water                                                  - as required
Oil                                                       - for deep frying

Method  
In a bowl mix 2 tsp of ghee and baking soda, rub with fingers until frothy.

Now all the ingredients mentioned above except water and oil, so that the ghee spreads thoroughly with the flour.


Now add little water to the mix to make a thick batter. 

Heat oil in a heavy frying pan, drop the batter with spoon or with hand, but do not make balls.

Fry the pakodas until golden brown in color.
Now serve the hot pakodas with chutney or with ketchup....
