Masala Pori/Puffed Rice

Masala pori yet another healthy, crunchy and easiest snack to make. My mom makes it during the rainy days. And also during the saraswathi pooja, when lots of pori gets accumulated from dad's office, uncle's office etc. The pori never gets wasted lying in the shelves.  My mom makes different dishes like Masala pori, pori urundai etc, which we all love. Do try out this masala pori and post your comments here. Meanwhile do checkout other interesting and tempting Starters/Evening Snacks/Appetizers here.

Here's how to make Masala Pori with step by step photos...

Ingredients

Puffed rice (Pori)                   - 10 cups
Roasted groundnuts             - 1/2 cup
Garlic cloves                          - 5 crushed
Mustard seed                         - 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal split                        - 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder                       -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder                 -1/4 tsp
Red chillies                             - 6
Oil                                            -1 tsp
Curry leaves

Method

In a kadai add oil  followed by mustards and urad dhal, let the mustard splutter then add ground nuts, red chillies, crushed garlic, curry leaves and saute it for a min.

Now add the turmeric powder, mix well. Then add the puffed rice(pori) and mix really good.

Switch off the stove, sprinkle cumin powder mix real good.

Yummy crunchy masala pori is ready. Let it cool down, then put save it  in air tight container for later.

Note: Do not add salt as pori will have the required amount of  salt.
