Though I love snake gourd before starting this blog, I knew very little about it, but
now I have learnt a lot, hope this helps all of you as well.

see how to make pudalangai poriyal…
Ingredients
Pudalangai
|
500 gm
|
Onion (optional)
|
½ finely chopped
|
Mustard seeds
|
¼ tsp
|
Cumin seeds
|
¼ tsp
|
Urad dhal
|
¼ tsp
|
Channa dhal(kadalai paruppu)
|
¼ tsp
|
Dry Red chillies
|
4 (change according to taste)
|
Turmeric powder
|
¼ tsp
|
Oil
|
1 tsp
|
Salt
|
As needed
|
Grated Coconut (optional)
|
2 tsp
|
Method
Clean
and cut the snake gourd as shown in the photos, remember to scoop out the seeds
in the middle.
Heat
oil in kadai add mustard seeds after it splutters, add cumin seeds, urad dhal,
channa dhal, red chillies and sauté for about 30 secs. Now add the onions and sauté
until golden brown, add turmeric powder and mix well.
Add the
pudalangai/snake gourd, salt and sauté for 3 min. Now sprinkle some water,
cover and cook the vegetable. Add the grated coconut and switch off the stove.
Yummy
and healthy pudalangai poriyal is ready to be enjoyed.
