Ingredients
Chicken

500 gm

Onion
|
1 big finely chopped
|
Tomato
|
2 finely chopped
|
Ginger & Garlic Paste
|
1 tbsp
|
Red Chilli Powder
|
3 tsp

Coriander Powder
|
2 tsp
|
Turmeric Powder
|
¼ tsp
|
Cinnamon Sticks
|

|
Cloves
|
2
|
Bay Leaf
|
2
|
Fennel Seeds
|
1/2 tsp
|
Black pepper powder
|
½ tsp
|
Mint leaves
|
8 to 10
|
Cilantro
|
2 tsp finely chopped
|
Yogurt
|
2 tbsp
|
Oil
|
2 tsp
|
Salt
|
As needed
|
For Grinding
Coconut grated
|
¼ cup
|
Green Chillies
|

Cashew nuts

Method
Clean,
cut and wash the chicken pieces. Sprinkle the pepper powder on the chicken and
mix it well and keep it aside.
In a
kadai heat oil, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, bay leaves, fennel seeds and sauté
for 20 secs. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown. Now add the ginger
& garlic paste and tomatoes and sauté until it is mushy.
Now add
the chicken and sauté until the chicken changes from pink to white color. Now add chilli
powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix it well. Add 2 cups of
water and mint leaves. Cover and cook the chicken for 12 to 15 mins.
Grind
the ingredients mentioned for grinding and add it to the chicken. Add the yogurt
and let it in cook for another 5 mins.
Garnish with cilantro and mint leaves.

yummy simple South Indian chicken kurma is ready to be served.
You can
add fresh cream as a final touch to give it a wonderful buttery taste.
You can
serve this kurma with white rice, ghee rice, chapatti or Naan.
