Ingredients
Beans
|
250 gm chopped finely
|
Mustard
|
½ tsp
|
Cumin seeds
|
½ tsp
|
Urad dhal
|
½ tsp
|
Dry red chillies
|
3
|
Asafoetida
|
One pinch
|
Grated coconut
|
3 to 4 tbsp
|
Curry leaves
|
5 -6
|
Salt
|
As needed
|
Oil
|
2 tsp
|
Method
Wash
and cut the beans to fine pieces.
Heat
the oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds after it splutter, add cumin seeds, urad
dhal, red chillies and curry leaves.
After
the urad dhal turns golden brown, add the chopped green beans, salt, asafoetida
and sauté for about 3 min. Cover it with the lid and cook in low flame for 5
min. The steam will help the beans to cook.
Open it
and stir it, sprinkle some water and cook for 5 -10 min. When the beans is
cooked add the grated coconut and give a good toss.
Note:
Here I
used only 1 tbsp of grated coconut, but you can add more or less depending on
your taste.
Yummy
and delicious beans poriyal is ready to be served. A simple and healthy side
dish for all types of rice and rotis.
