Here's a short video on how to make Arai Keerai Poriyal

Method

Clean the keerai by removing the roots. Add 1 tsp of rock salt and soak in water for about 20-30 minutes. Wash at least 3 times to get rid of any soil left and drain the water completely.

Chop it finely with the stem and keep it aside.

Heat oil in kadai and splutter  cumin seeds,  add urad dal and let it change to light golden color.

Now add dry red chillies and then add chopped onions, little salt and mix well.
Let the onions turn translucent.

Now add the chopped keerai and stir it well. Add needed salt and mix well.

Sprinkle little water and let the keerai cook. The keerai will shrink and cook in about 2-3 minutes. Stir well and cook until done.

Finally add grated coconut, after the water is evaporated ,mix really well and switch off the stove.

Healthy and delicious Arai keerai poriyal is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it with rice and dal or you can eat this by mixing with rice and ghee.
