Quick & Fast Potato Fry

Given ‘potato’ as an ingredient to cook, we can make n number of dishes, this quick potato fry is one among them. This is my mom’s special potato fry, I make this very often because it can be done in a jiffy and packed for lunch. My girl is crazy about this potato fry, she can finish one whole box of this potato fry.

Here’s how to make Quick Potato Fry with step by step photos…

Ingredients

Potatoes
4
Red chilli powder
1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Salt
As needed
Oil
1 ½ tbsp

Method

Wash, peel and cut the potatoes to small cubes.

Heat oil in a non stick kadai, add the potatoes and salt. Let it cook in the oil, keep tossing them until they turn golden brown and form crispy layer. Cook in medium flame for about 12 – 15 minutes.

Add the red chilli powder and toss the potatoes well in medium flame for another 5 – 8 min.

Quick potato fry is ready, just enjoy with simple sambar or yogurt rice.

Suggestion:

Cook the potatoes only in oil and don't add water.

  8. Love the simplicity and of course, many of us will not say no to potatoes. Somehow potatoes are much loved by many and we are included too. I simply know that this potato fry is best eaten with rasam and rice.

  11. Looks Nice... I prepare the same way except microwave the potatoes for 5 min before adding to the Kadai, that cuts the cooking time into half.
