I have
two girls who have different preferences, one always has sweet tooth and
another prefers savoury. I am always torn apart between these two girls, I know there are lot of moms just like me. So I
need to always make something or the other to satisfy these girls. One such
savoury, I make often for my girls is this bhindi kurkure. But it always so
happens that even when I am frying the kids just finish it off…. Do check out other interesting and tempting Starters/Appetizers/Evening Snacks here.
Here’s
how to make Bhindi Kurkure with step by step photos…
Ingredients
Bhindi/Okra
|
200 gm
|
Besan flour
|
3 tbsp
|
Corn flour
|
3 tbsp
|
Garam masala
|
½ tsp
|
Mango/Amchur powder
|
¼ tsp
|
Red chilli powder
|
½ tsp
|
Turmeric powder
|
¼ tsp
|
Chaat masala
|
½ tsp
|
Salt
|
As needed
|
Oil
|
For frying
|
Method
Wash
the okras nicely, now pat them dry really good with paper towel or a clean
cloth. The okras should be dry and no water in it.
Now cut
the head and tail off, then slit the bhindi length wise to make four pieces as
shown in the photo. Now transfer the cut bhindis to a big bowl.
Now mix
all the powders mentioned above except the oil in a separate bowl.
Add the
masala mixture to the bhindis and mix really good, so that the masala is coated
in all the pieces. Let it marinate for 15 to 20 min.
Heat
oil in a kadai, and fry the bhindis in batches until crispy and turns golden
brown.
Crispy bhindi kurkure is ready to be enjoyed. Can be had as such or served with a cup of yogurt.

Congrats Priya for winning the voucher. I can understand how family members can have preference in the type of food. Its common because my other half and myself do differ in what we like to eat.
ReplyDeleteLovely crispy okra and thanks for the recipe. Its so boring to add okra into curries all the time and this will be replicated soon.
