Ellu Urundai Recipe/Sesame Seeds Ladoo Recipe/Sesame Seeds Ladoo with Jaggery/எள்ளு உருண்டை /Vinayagar Chathurthi Special/How to make Ellu Urundai with step by step photos& Video

Ellu urundai/Sesame ladoo is a very healthy ladoo made with just two ingredients sesame seeds and jaggery. Sesame seeds have a nutty taste and are delicate yet crunchy. Before the making ladoos I would like to share some of the health benefits of sesame seeds. Sesame seeds are very good source of manganese and copper, but they are also good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, Vitamin E, zinc and dietary fibre. These dietary fibres help in lowering the cholesterol and helps in controlling blood pressure. This ellu urundai I prepared for Ganesha Chathurthi as neivedhyam for Lord Ganesha. Cardamom powder [optional]
One generous pinch
Preparation Time: 10 minutes                            Recipe Category: Sweet, Neivedhyam

Here's  a short video on how to make Ellu Urundai

Method

Dry roast the sesame seeds in a kadai in medium flame. The sesame seeds will pop, keep stirring continuously. The sesame seeds will change to light golden brown color and it will stop popping, at that time switch off the stove.

Transfer it to a plate and let it cool down. Meanwhile grate the jaggery and keep it aside.
Add the sesame seeds to the mixer and pulse it twice. Now add the jaggery, cardamom powder to the sesame seeds and grind it until they become slightly sticky.

Now grease your hands with little oil and start to make balls with the ground mixture.

Store these balls in airtight container. These ellu urundais stay fresh for 2 weeks at room temperature. But the only thing is it always gets over the very next day in my house.

Super delicious and healthy ellu urundai is ready for neivadhyam or just as healthy snacks.
