Here’s how to make Onion Chicken Fry with step by step photos…
Ingredients
Chicken
500gm
Onion
2 big finely chopped
Garlic
6 cloves finely chopped
Ginger
2 inch piece finely chopped
Black pepper powder
½ tsp
Lemon juice
1-2 tsp
Cinnamon stick
2
Cloves
2
Fennel seeds
½ tsp
Bay leaves
1
Oil
1 tbsp
Curry leaves
12-15

For Marinating
Yogurt
½ cup
Red chilli powder
1 ½ tsp
Coriander powder
2 tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
½ tsp
½ tsp
Salt
As needed
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4-6

Method
Wash and cut the chicken to medium size. Add all the ingredients mentioned under marination, mix thoroughly and let it sit for about 1 hour.

Heat oil in a kadai, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, fennel seeds, bay leaves and fry until nice aroma arises.

Add the onions, garlic, ginger, curry leaves[6], salt and saute until light golden brown.


Now add the marinated chicken and mix really well until the color changes. Sprinkle very little water, cover and cook the cook the chicken until done.


Add the black pepper powder and mix well. Finally add the lemon juice, mix and switch off the stove.


Fry the rest of the curry leaves and add it to the chicken and garnish them.


Yummy Onion Chicken Fry is ready to be enjoyed.

  17. I think this recipe is for me...I get so lazy of grinding ingredients together when I think of washing multiple things (the grinder too along with a huge pile of dishes) :)...this looks perfect...quick fix for the craving
