Aval Kesari Recipe/Poha Kesari Recipe - Krishna Jayanthi/Gokulashtami Recipes

Today I am going to share with you all a very easy and quick neivedhyam recipe for Pooja days – Aval/Poha Kesari. I made this aval kesari for Krishna Jayanthi, but the recipe has been sitting in my drafts for quite some time.  So friends, you are planning to make Kesari, try to make Aval Kesari and you will surely love it. Here’s how to make Aval Kesari with step by step photos…

Ingredients
Aval/Poha
½ cup
Ghee
3 tbsp
Sugar
½ cup
Water
½ cup
½ tsp
Cashews
10 finely chopped or broken
Raisins
10-12
Orange Food Color
One small pinch
Preparation Time: 2-3 minutes                           Recipe Category: Dessert

Method
Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan/kadai, fry the cashews and raisins until golden brown color.

Transfer the nuts and raisins to a plate.

Now add the  poha/aval to the same pan/kadai and roast for about 3 minutes or until nice aroma comes out. Transfer the roasted aval to a plate.

Heat water in a pan or kadai, once it starts to boil add the aval/poha and cook until it turn soft.

Now add the sugar and food colour to the aval.

The sugar will start to melt. Once it is completely dissolved add rest of the ghee and keep stirring until it reaches kesari consistency.

Now add cardamom powder, fried cashews and raisins to the aval kesari. Stir well and switch off the stove.

Simple, tempting and delectable Aval Kesari is ready to be enjoyed. This aval kesari can be made on special Pooja days like Gokulashtami/Krishna Jayanthi forNeivedhyam.
