Drumstick leaves have wonderful medicinal properties.  They contain all essential amino acids for the healthy functioning of our body. Regular consumption of drumstick leaves is highly recommended for anemic people. They are rich sources of antioxidants, proteins, potassium, vitamin A, C, B3, B2, iron and magnesium. Ingredients
Drumstick Leaves/Murungai Keerai
1 cup
Onion
1 finely chopped
Tomato
1 finely chopped
Ginger & Garlic Paste
1 tsp
Green Chillies
2 or 3 slit length wise
Cumin Seeds/Jeeragam
1 tsp
Fennel Seeds/Sombu
1 tsp
Turmeric Powder
1/4 tsp
Cinnamon Sticks
One stick  2 pieces
Salt
As needed
Oil/Gingelly Oil
1 tsp
Water
2 ½ cups
Black Pepper Powder
As needed.

Method
Drumstick Leaves/Murungai keerai

Heat oil in a sauce pan, splutter cumin seeds, then add fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks and wait until nice aroma arises.

Now add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.

Add ginger & garlic paste and sauté until raw smell vanishes. Now add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies and sauté until they turn mushy.

Add the washed drumstick leaves and sauté well. 

The leaves will start to shrink.

Add about 2 ½ cups of water, turmeric powder, salt and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.

Finally add black pepper powder and switch off the stove.

Healthy and delicious drumstick leaves/murungai keerai soup is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it either hot or warm.
Suggestions:
You can serve this soup as such or you can take about 3-4 tbsp of cooked murugai keerai, grind it and add it back to the soup, mix thoroughly and then serve it.
