Method
Add oats to the mixer and grind it powder.
Transfer it to a bowl.
Add sooji/rava/semolina and salt to the
ground oats.
Add yogurt/curd to the oats, rava mixture
and mix really well without lumps.
Add black pepper powder, ginger paste,
baking soda and mix well.
Now add 1 cup of water and mix really well.
Cover it and keep it aside for about 30 minutes.
Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, splutter
mustard seeds, add chopped green chillies and fry for 20-30 seconds and switch
off the stove.
Add the tempering to the oats batter.
Heat Dosa tawa on medium flame. Take a
ladle of batter and pour it on the tawa. Gently spread the batter to make a
round circle.
Now sprinkle chopped onions, tomatoes,
grated carrots all over the batter. With the spatula/Dosa karandi press the
veggies lightly so that they stick to the batter.
Drizzle little oil all over the uthappam.
Flip it and cook on the other side as well.
The vegetables will lightly turn golden.
Now remove the uthappam from tawa and
transfer it to a plate.
Yes, healthy and delicious Oats Uthappam is
ready to be enjoyed. Serve it hot with any delicious chutney of your choice, I
served it with Red Bell Pepper Chutney.
