the same series today is yet another very tasty and delectable Coriander Seeds
Tea which can be consumed by all age groups. You can even give it to kids after
school. Coriander seeds are popularly known as Dhaniya in India and are one of
the items that are found in everyone’s pantry. Apart from being very popular
spice it is also known for their health benefits.

value of Coriander
The
coriander seeds/Dhaniya is loaded with vitamin A, Vitamin K Folate and
Patassium. Coriander seeds have a high content of phytonutrients, flavonoids
and phenolic compounds. A good amount of dietary fibre is found in coriander.
It is a great source of calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium.

Time: 5 minutes
To
make Tea
Water
|
1 ½ cup

Coriander Seeds Tea Powder
|
2 tsp
|
Ginger
|
One small piece
|
Milk
|
1 cup

Naatu Sarkkarai/Panang Kalkandu
|
1 ½ tsp [adjust to taste]

Method
Preparing
Coriander Seeds/Dhaniya Tea Powder
Dry
roast coriander seeds/dhaniya and cardamom/elakkai in a kadai/pan until nice aroma fills the room
and the color of the dhania changes to beautiful golden color. Make sure you
keep mixing to avoid burning of dhaniya.
Remove
from stove and let it cool completely.
Add
roasted coriander seeds/dhaniya and cardamom/elakkai to the mixer and grind to
a powder.
Now the
coriander seeds tea powder is ready. Transfer it to an airtight container/glass
bottle and make tea whenever needed.
How
to make Coriander Seeds Tea/Dhaniya Tea/Kothamalli Tea?
Heat 1 ½ cup of water in a pan.
Add 2
tsp of coriander seeds tea powder and let it come to rolling boil.
Now add
one small piece of ginger [crushed] to the water.
Let it
boil well for about a minute or a little more so that all the essence comes to
the water and the color will change and the water will reduce a little.
Now add
one cup of milk and let it come to boil again. Switch off the stove.
Strain
the tea to two cups, add required amount of naatu sarkkarai/panang kalkandu,
mix well and enjoy.
