Wheat Appam
is a sweet dish that can be made easily with very little time. This Sweet Appam
can be made as neivedhyam for Vinayaka Chathurthi, Krishna Jayanthi, Sathya
Naraya Poojai or for any special occasions or just as evening snacks for kids.

how to make Instant Wheat Flour Appam with step by step photos…
Ingredients
Wheat Flour/Godhumai Maavu

1 cup
|
Rice Flour/Arisi Maavu
|
¼ cup
|
Banana
|
2 small
|
Jaggery/Vellam
|
½ cup
|
Cardamom Powder/elachi
|
¼ tsp
|
Ginger Powder/Sukku Powder
|
¼ tsp
|
Baking Soda
|
One small pinch
|
Salt
|
One small pinch
|
Water
|
As needed
|

Time: 25-30 minutes

Method
In a
wide bowl add 1 cup wheat flour, ¼ cup rice flour, ¼ tsp cardamom powder, ¼ tsp
ginger powder, one small pinch baking soda, one small pinch salt and mix
everything really well.
Chop the
bananas, add it to the blender and grind to fine paste. Keep it aside.
Heat
grated jaggery and ¼ cup water to a sauce pan. Let the jaggery melt completely,
keep stirring continuously. Once the jaggery is melted completely, switch off
the stove. Let it jaggery water cool completely; filter it with a strainer to get rid of any impurities.
Mix
everything really well to form a lump free batter with required water. The
consistency of the batter should be like idli batter.
Heat a
paniyaram pan, add ½ tsp of ghee or oil in all the holes.
When
the corners start to cook and loosen, flip it over to the other side using a
spoon or wooden stick.
Cook
the other side until it turns to golden brown color.
