Method

Wash and clean the prawns/eral atleast 3 -4 times and drain the water so that there is no mud. Add ½ tsp of turmeric powder to the washed prawns/eral, mix really well and then wash it one more time.

Devein the eral/prawn, wash one more time, drain the water and keep it aside.

In a wide bowl add besan flour/kadalai maavu, rice flour, red chilli powder, cuminpowder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix really well.

Now add onions, green chillies, ginger, and garlic and mix everything really well.

Add the washed prawns/shrimps, 2 tsp of lemon juice, 2 tsp of warm oil and mix everything well.

Sprinkle little water and mix to form a crumbly mixture just like how you make for onion pakoras.

Add curry leaves and give a good mix.

Heat oil in a kadai/pan needed for deep frying. Check if the oil is hot enough by dropping a little batter, if it rises up immediately then the oil is ready for frying.

Make small balls and slip it into the hot oil, fry for about three to four minutes on medium flame. Turn them gently and fry on the other side also to golden brown color and remove using slotted spoon.

Serve it hot with fried curry leaves/karuvepilai.

Super delicious and tempting Prawn Pakora is ready to be enjoyed. You can serve it hot with yogurt/yogurt dip.

Suggestions:
I have used cumin powder; you can very well replace it with whole Cumins/Jeeragam.
You can add 1-2 tbsp of chopped cilantro/coriander leaves when making the batter.
You can deep fry some green chillies and garnish the prawn pakoras.
I have added 2 tsp of red chilli powder, you can increase the spice level according to your need.
