Ingredients
Fennel Seeds/Snauf/Sombu/ சோம்பு

Preparation Time: less than 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 4-5 minutes

Method
Measure ½ cup of Fennel Seeds/Sombu and add it to a dry kadai/pan.
Dry roast it for about 5 minutes in low flame, until the fennel seeds change to light golden color and nice aroma fills the room. Keep stirring continuously.
After it turns golden color, switch off the stove and let it cool down completely.
Now add the roasted fennel seeds to the mixer and grind it to fine powder.
Let the powder cool down completely, then store in glass bottle or airtight container for cooking purposes in veg or non-vegetarian recipes or to even make fennel seeds tea.

Fennel Seeds Tea with Fennel Seeds Powder /Fennel Seeds Seeds Powder Tea
Boil about 1 ¼ cup of water, add 1 tsp heaped of fennel seeds powder.
Add ¼ tsp of Cardamom Powder/Elachi Powder and let it boil.
After it boils really well for a couple of minutes, switch off the stove.
Filter it to a tall glass.
Add panang kalkandu/palm sugar/nattu sarkkarai/brown sugar to it.
Enjoy this healthy and flavourful cup of tea.
