Today I
am going a share a very traditional, authentic and common Cabbage Poriyal which
is a very popular side dish in South Indian Meals. Cabbage belongs to a group of
cole crops, which means that it is closely related to broccoli, cauliflower and
Brussel sprouts. Cabbage is a very good source of dietary fiber, calcium,
magnesium, potassium and a great source of Vitamin K. It is also loaded with
antioxidants and other vitamins like vitamin C, B6, Thiamine, Niacin, Folate
etc. Cabbage is high in fiber and contains zero fat, so it aids in weight loss
and lowers cholesterol to a great extent. Consuming Cabbage helps in boosting
the immune system due to the presence of Vitamin C. The other most important
Vitamin that is not available in many other vegetables is Vitamin K. This
Vitamin K boost the mental function and concentration, it plays vital role in
blood clotting, bone metabolism and increases blood calcium levels. Having
