how to make Vanilla Custard Ice Cream with step by step photos and Video...
Ingredients
Milk/Whole Milk/Full Cream Milk
|
500 ml
|
Vanilla Essence
|
1 tsp
|
Powdered Sugar
|
3 tbsp
|
Fresh Cream or Whipped Cream
|
250 ml or 150 ml
|
Custard Powder
|
3 tbsp
|

¼ cup

Here's a short video on how to make Vanilla Custard Ice Cream
Preparation:
Keep
the glass bowl and blender handles in the freezer for at least 8-10 hours. Keep
the Fresh Cream refrigerated.
Method
Making
the Custard
Add 3
tbsp of custard powder to a bowl add ¼ cup of milk and mix really well without
any lumps. [use only boiled and cooled milk at room temperature]
Boil
500 ml of milk really well, keep stirring.
Add ¾ cup
of sugar and boil for 5 minutes. Keep stirring to avoid burning of milk.
Lower
the flame and add the custard mixture to the simmering milk.
Cook on
low flame until it becomes thick. Keep stirring continuously to avoid formation
of lumps. At one stage the custard will become thick like porridge, at this stage switch off the stove.
Close
it with lid and let it cool down, then refrigerate it until you prepare the
cream.
Making
of Icecream
Pour
the fresh cream to the frozen bowl.
Beat
well with hand blender or whisker until the fresh cream thickens and forms
beautiful peaks.
Now add
the powdered sugar and beat well until well combined.
Add 1
tsp of vanilla essence and beat one more time.
Now add
the refrigerated custard to the cream.
Mix everything really well.
Using a
beater and beat really well combined. Ice cream mixture is ready.
Transfer
it to an airtight freezer safe container and keep it in the freezer for 2
hours.
After 2
hours, get the container out and mix everything really either with ladle or
hand blender.
Close it tightly with lid and keep it back in the freezer and freeze it for 8 hours.
Yummy,
creamy and rich Vanilla custard Ice cream is ready. Garnish with chopped
almonds, sprinkles and enjoy.
