Ingredients
Dry Red Chillies/ காய்ந்த மிளகாய்
|

Garlic/ பூண்டு
|
3 bulbs
|
Tamarind/ புளி
|
One small lemon size ball
|
Salt/
உப்பு
|
As needed
|
Gingelly Oil/ நல்லெண்ணெய்
|
6 tbsp
|
Mustard Seeds/ கடுகு
|
¼ tsp
|
Preparation

Here’s
a short video on how to make Poondu Chutney
Method
Soak
the red chillies in warm water for about 15 minutes.
Add the
soaked red chillies, garlic cloves, tamarind and salt to the mixer.
Grind
it, open the lid and add 2-3 tsp of water and grind it again.
Now
open the lid and add 2 tbsp of gingelly oil and grind it to fine paste.
Heat 4
tbsp of oil in a kadai/pan, splutter mustard seeds.
Now add
the ground paste and mix really well.
Saute
until the oil separates out and then switch off the stove.
Delicious
and tasty Poondu Chutney is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it with idlis, dosas,
uthappam, kuzhipaniyaram etc
