Today, I am going to share a very flavourful, healthy and delectable Garlic Chilli Ruice/Garlic Rice. This is a very quick and tempting rice variety that can be made in a jiffy and served with pappad/appalam/fryums. This is a perfect lunch box recipe and can be even made by bachelors. how to make Garlic Chilli Rice/Garlic Rice with step by step photos…
Ingredients
Rice |
1 cup [200gms] |
Garlic/Poondu |
1 Bulb |
Green Chillies/Pachai Milagai |
3-4 slit & cut |
Black Pepper Powder |
¼ tsp |
Salt |
As needed |
Oil |
1 tbsp |
Cilantro/Kothamalli |
2 tbsp finely chopped |
Curry Leaves/Karuvepillai |
10-12 |

Method
Wash
the rice thoroughly with water 2-3 times and drain the water.
Add 2.5
cups of water, salt and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Wait
for the steam to release all by itself and open the lid. Cooked rice is ready.
Peel
the garlic and chop them to fine pieces.
Heat 1
tbsp of oil in a kadai/pan, add the chopped garlic.
Saute the garlic really well until they turn to golden brown color. Add curry leaves and give a good mix.
Add the
green chillies and saute for about 20 seconds and switch off the stove.
Now add
the cooked rice and black pepper powder.
Mix
everything really well.
Finally
add chopped cilantro/kothamalli and mix really well.
Healthy, delicious, flavourful and tempting Garlic Chilli Rice/Garlic Rice is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it hot with pappad/appalam.
