The dried amla will puff up with nice aroma. At this stage add 1 tbsp of black pepper and fry everything together for about a minute.

Add dried Hisbiscus flower or fresh flower to the oil and fry really well.

Next add one big handful of curry leaves/karuvepillai and mi everything really well.

Then add one big handful of Thulasi leaves and mix it in really well.

Now add the grated lemon zest  and one half lemon to the oil and mix really well for about a minute.

Add the vetiver and let it boil for about 5-6 minutes on low flame.

Let it cool down a little, at this stage filter the oil.

Transfer the oil to a glass bottle and use it for applying it to the hair.

How to use the Herbal Hair Oil

Use only clean spoon for the oil. You can use 1-2 tsp of oil to the scalp and hair, the amount of oil depends on the length of the hair.

This oil is can be applied to your scalp and hair every day and washed once in two days.

If you do not like oily/sticky hair then, you can leave the oil overnight or for couple of hours and then wash your hair with Herbal Shikkakai Powder/Homemade Shikkakai Powder or with shampoo.

Suggestions:

I have used coconut oil, you can use gingelly oil/sesame oil instead of coconut oil or equal ratio of both.
