Potato & Bread Patties Recipe/Aloo Pattie Recipe/Aloo Tikki Recipe

 Aloo Tikki/Aloo Pattie is a simple and quick evening snack recipe that can be made in no time. Here’s how to make Potato Patties with step by step photos…

 Ingredients

Potato/Aloo/Urulaikizhangu

Bread Slices

4

Green Chillies

2 finely chopped

Red Chilli Powder

1.5 tsp

Coriander Powder

1 tsp

Turmeric Powder

½ tsp

Garam Masala Powder

¼ tsp

Cumin Powder

¼ tsp

Curry Leaves

8-10 finely chopped

Cilantro/Coriander Leaves

1-2 tbsp finely chopped

Salt

 As needed

Oil

 For cooking the patties

Method

Wahs the potatoes thoroughly in water 2-3 times and drain the water. Add the potatoes to the pressure cooker, add enough water and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.

After steam releases open the lid and peel the potatoes.  Mash the boiled potatoes thoroughly with masher.

Now add chopped green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, curry leaves, salt and cilantro to the mashed potatoes.

Mix everything really well, until well combined.

Cut the bread pieces and add it to the potato mixture.

Again mix everything really well, the bread will help in absorbing any excess moisture in the mixture.

Make small balls using the potato mixture.

Flatten the balls little like a pattie and keep it ready.

Heat a tawa and add the prepared patties , drizzle oil on the sides and cook them on medium flame evenly on both the sides.

Delicious and healthy Potato Patties is ready to be enjoyed. You can have this potato pattie as such or it can be kept in between toasted bread, spread with butter and chutney as sandwich.
