Tawa Paneer Masala is a quick and easy paneer masala recipe which has unique taste and flavour to it. The unique taste is due to the Paav Bhaji masala powder that is added to make the tawa paneer. Tawa Paneer is a popular and common paneer recipe found in restaurant menus and street side food vendors. Ingredients
Butter |

Cumin Seeds/Jeeragam |

Onion |
1 big finely chopped |
Ginger & Garlic Paste |
1 tsp |
Tomatoes |
3 big |
Capsicum/Bell Pepper |
1 cut to small cubes |
Paav Bhaji Masala |
1 tsp |
Turmeric Powder |
¼ tsp |
Cilantro/Coriander Leaves |
2 tbsp finely chopped |
Salt |
As needed |
For Marinate
Paneer |
220 g cut to cubes |
¼ cup |

Ginger & Garlic Paste |
1 tsp |
Red Chilli Powder |
½ tsp |
Coriander Powder |
¼ tsp |
Turmeric Powder |
¼ tsp |
¼ tsp |

½ tsp |
|
Ajwain/Omam/Carom Seeds |

Kasuri Methi |

Lemon Juice |
½ lemon

Method
Cut the
paneer to cubes and keep it ready.
Take a
wide bowl, add ¼ cup yogurt, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp coriander powder, ¼
tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of ginger & garlic paste.
Then
add ¼ tsp of Cumin Powder, ½ tsp of garam masala powder, ¼ tsp of ajwain/omam
to the bowl, required salt.
Squeeze
the lemon juice to the bowl.
Crush
the kasuri methi and add it to the bowl.
Now mix
everything really well until well combined.
At this
stage add the paneer cubes and mix really well.
Chop the tomatoes to small cubes. Add it to the mixer and grind it to fine paste and prepare the tomato puree.
Heat
1.5 tbsp of oil in a pan, now add the marinated paneer cubes along with all the
masala.
Fry the
paneer really well, equally on all the sides until they turn to nice golden
brown color.
To the same tawa, add 1 tbsp of butter and let it melt.
Now add
1 tsp of cumin seeds/jeeragam and roast until they turn aromatic.
At this
stage add finely chopped onions and mix really well.
Saute
the onion until they turn soft.
Now add
the ginger & garlic paste and saute until the raw smell vanishes.
Add the
finely chopped capsicum to the pan.
Saute
the capsicum really well until they turn soft.
Now add
turmeric powder, Paav Bhaji Masala powder, salt and saute well for 20-30
seconds.
Add the
tomato puree to the pan and mix really well.
Saute
well until the tomato puree thickens and the oil starts to release from the
sides.
Add ¼ cup
of water and mix well.
Add the
roasted paneer pieces and mix gently until the masala is evenly coated.
Finally
add 2 tbsp. of finely chopped coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
Delicious
and super tempting Tawa Paneer Masala is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it hot with
rotis/chapatis or even with any Rice varieties.
Suggestions:
If you
do not have Paav Bhaji Masala then you can add ½ tsp of garam masala powder, ½ tsp
of red chilli powder and ¼ tsp of Amchur powder.
Tawa
paneer can be made either the dry version or semi dry version. I have made the
dry of Tawa paneer, you can add little water to make it to semi dry version.
